(March 19 , 25, 26, 27) Course of Prof. Pablo A. Ferrari on "Point processes with applications to transport automata"
Researcher in Probability at the University of L’Aquila (DISIM).
My research is focused in the field of kinetic theory of gases and plasmas. I am deeply fascinated by the beauty of problems which naturally arise from physics and can be studied and analyzed with a rigorous mathematical approach. Some of the projects I am working on concern
rigorous derivation of effective evolution equations (Boltzmann equation, Landau equation) from deterministic or stochastic particle systems with a main focus on the long-range interactions
analysis of the long-time asymptotics of the solutions for classical and quantum kinetic equations with a main focus on the dynamics of gases in open systems
rigorous derivation and analysis of kinetic equations arising from problems of particle aggregation (Smoluchowski coagulation equation)
