The group is formed by young researchers and leading experts in the area of classical and quantum equilibrium statistical mechanics, non equilibrium phenomena and hydrodynamic limits, probabilistic and PDE methods, numerical and computer simulations.

The aim of the group is to favour strong interactions between its components and use their expertise to investigate phenomena which appear in biological systems with applications to spread of infections and population dynamics, for instance the mathematical models used in statistical mechanics have helped to understand the way the Covid epidemy spreads.

An important point will be to increase the collaborations with other laboratories in Italy and abroad.
